Ixoria Learning Center Conducts Successful Event
Press Release: April 27
The staff and students of Ixoria Learning Center held a yard sale recently at the center in Ft. Pierce. The two day event was a bargain hunter’s paradise as shoppers searched through a large variety of household items, clothes and toys.
“A lot of families were doing their spring cleaning and were very generous in donating items for the sale,” said Carol Tzimenatos, Supported Living Supervisor.
In addition to the sale items, hungry shoppers were able to purchase yummy hot dogs, chips and soft drinks from the refreshment committee. Jack Miller, Employment Supervisor, served as the official Grill Master.
The two day event was a success and raised $567 for the program. “Our students worked very hard in planning and setting up for the yard sale,” said Tzimenatos. “They are planning a two day trip to Epcot in June and the money they earned will help pay for their expenses.”
To raise additional funds for the trip, the students will hold a Spring Bazaar on May 11, at Ixoria Learning Center, 404 Ixoria Avenue, from 10am to 1pm. The Center is also seeking individuals and businesses to help underwrite the trip. A $50 donation will sponsor a student.
