New Horizons Announces Plans for Mental Health Fair

Press Release:  May 4

New Horizons of the Treasure Coast is hosting a Mental Health Fair in Vero Beach on Friday, June 1 from 11am to 2pm.  This fun and informational event is open to the public and will be held at the Kurtell Medical Center 777 37th Street Suite A.

Do you want to know latest relaxation techniques? What foods and vitamins promote good mental health? Do you have a question about Medicare or Medicaid?  How to access community transportation and employment assistance? More than a dozen organizations will be on hand to answer these questions and more.

“New Horizons is excited about our first Mental Health Fair,” said Angela Guzenski, Recovery Support Services Manager.  “We want everyone in the community to know the resources and services that are available,” she said.  “Attendees can pick up information on where to turn for a number of mental health topics and we are also offering depression and anxiety screenings.”

“We are promoting good mental health and have planned some fun activities for everyone,” she said. “There will be complimentary massages, prizes and refreshments.”

Organizations participating in the Mental Health Fair include:  ACCESS Florida, Amedisys Home Health Care, Brevard Achievement Center, Council on Aging, Florida Local Advocacy, Gulfstream Goodwill Industries, Healing Hands, Mental Health Association, and Millers Health Mart.

New Horizons of the Treasure Coast provides behavioral health services for adults and children in four counties.  The main campus is located on Midway Road in St. Lucie County and there are outpatient sites in Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties.  For additional information about New Horizons in Vero Beach or the Mental Health Fair contact Angela Guzenski or Heather Roberts at 778-7217.
