New Horizons Receives $20,000 Grant from Hobe Sound Community Chest

New Horizons is pleased to announce a $20,000 grant from the Hobe Sound Community Chest. “This generous donation has been designated to the 4 Our Kids capital campaign for the new Center for Children at New Horizons” said John B. Romano, President and CEO. Groundbreaking for the center located on Midway Road in Fort Pierce was held in November and completion is anticipated in the next 12 months.
Founded in 1949, the Hobe Sound Community Chest funds social service agencies that provide essential services to residents in need in Hobe Sound. The Hobe Sound Community Chest has generously supported New Horizons of the Treasure Coast over the years.
“This emergency center will provide a safe and caring place for boys and girls ages 6-17 who are experiencing a mental health or substance abuse crisis” added Romano. “The Center will also be a place of hope and recovery…a haven where families can come together for counseling and assistance in dealing with their children’s emotional problems.
