Bikers Support Recovery

Press Release December 5, 2007

Members of The Alternative Motorcycle Club of the Treasure Coast made a special delivery to New Horizons recently. A caravan of Harley's and SUV's roared into the quiet night and journeyed from their Port St. Lucie clubhouse to New Horizons main campus on Midway Road.

The special cargo was boxes and boxes of books, tapes and CD's that are used throughout the year for patient recovery. This is the third year that the group has made a donation to New Horizons. They held a successful event in September and used a portion of the proceeds to purchase recovery materials for the patients at New Horizons.

"We are very appreciative of the bikers' generosity," said Donna Molnar, Assistant Director of Nursing. "The donations are used throughout the year to help our patients on their road to recovery."

Alternative MC is a clean and sober motorcycle club. The Treasure Coast Chapter is part of a national organization that believes in giving back to the recovering community. For additional information about the club, go to the group's website: www.alternativemc.com/Treasure.
