Volunteers
Throughout New Horizons fifty year history, dedicated volunteers have helped provide quality care for the men, women and children of Indian River, Martin, Okeechobee and St. Lucie Counties.
Our adult volunteers represent a cross section of the community and are comprised of people from all ages and walks of life. College students, working adults and retired seniors combine their efforts to enhance the quality of care for clients in our four county service area.
In 2006, 75 dedicated volunteers… donated more than 13,000 hours… that represented more than $100,000 in services contributed to New Horizons.

The Volunteer Gift
--(Author Unknown)
A helping hand, a willing heart,
Sometimes that's all it takes -
A simple gesture on someone's part,
But what a difference it makes.New Horizons’ compassionate volunteers experience the “gift of giving” every day. Their lives are enriched by completing important daily assignments and helping our clients live through some challenging times. Volunteers often tell us how rewarding they find these experiences.
Benefits to Volunteers

Assignments match each new volunteer to the position that is most meaningful and the best use of their skills.
