In 1958 a group of concerned citizens formed the Indian River Mental Health Clinic in Ft. Pierce to meet the needs of people with emotional and mental health disorders. Through the years, the organization has evolved to meet the ever changing needs of the community and in the process has experienced many changes including names and locations.
New Horizons of the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee delivers accessible behavioral and primary health care services to children, adults and families to achieve mental and physical wellness, thereby improving the quality of life in our community.
New Horizons of the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee will become the preferred provider by having engaged employees delivering evidence based and best practices, and by expanding services in response to the needs of the community.

New Horizons of the Treasure Coast and Okeechobee serves priority populations that include: substance abuse disorders, pregnant IV drug users and/or other substances, IV drug users, and consumers involved in the child welfare system who have a substance use disorder. When necessary New Horizons will also assist to find appropriate treatment.
