Children’s Inpatient Unit
The Children’s Inpatient Unit (CU) is a 20 bed integrated mental health crisis stabilization unit and Addictions Receiving Facility (ARF).
Services are provided 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for children ages 6 through 17 who have mental health and/or substance abuse issues and need crisis intervention.
The length of stay is usually 3-7 days.

Children’s Therapy Services
New Horizons offers behavioral/mental health services that include individual, group and family psychotherapy to children and families in St. Lucie, Indian River, Martin and Okeechobee Counties.
Therapeutic Behavioral On Site Services (TBOS)
This program is an intensive intervention for children with behavioral and mental health problems. Focus of treatment will include input from parents, teachers/school officials and other agencies.
The program provides therapeutic services such as solution solving skills, anger management skills, parental empowerment and other treatment methods. Services are designed to maximize client and family strengths to reduce behavior problems and increase positive behaviors.
Juvenile Detention Center
Services are intended to reduce distressing emotions and behavior associated with the youth’s mental health or substance abuse problem/disorder and improve the youth’s ability to cope and function in the correctional setting. Crisis Intervention, For juveniles returning to their guardians, ongoing therapeutic services are offered to the youth and their families. Referrals are made through DJJ.
Strengthening Families
This is a family skills training program to significantly reduce problem behaviors, delinquency, and alcohol and drug abuse in children and to improve social competencies and school performance. The 14 weekly 2 hour meetings include Parent Training, Children’s Skills Training and Family Life Skills Training. This is a collaborative program funded by Children’s Services Council of St. Lucie County.

Children’s Outpatient Services
Services include comprehensive evaluations and treatment options. Based upon the evaluation and diagnosis, treatment may consist of individual, family counseling, case management, psychiatric evaluation and medication management.
Children’s Case Management Team
Provides support to the child and their family. The Team helps to link families to community resources and advocates for the family. Case managers serve as coordinators of multi-agency services. Services are in the home, school and the community.
Family Intervention Services
Community-based substance abuse and mental health case management services. Adults and children to be served are referred by Family Safety staff.

The Student Assistance Program (SAP)
The Student Assistance Program (SAP) is a substance abuse prevention program that provides services for students in elementary and middle schools in St. Lucie, Indian River and Okeechobee Counties. SAP is a free service.
Prevention Specialists provide a variety of services and training to the community and other agencies.
